nobelWe are proud to offer our patients across Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway, first rate modern Dental Implant treatment.

Dental Implants are a permanent and fixed solution to replace missing teeth.

A small titanium screw is placed into the jawbone to replace the tooth’s natural root, and over a period of months naturally integrates with your body.

For patients apprehensive about undergoing this relatively simple surgical procedure, sedation is available.

One tooth missing

An Implant may be used to replace a single tooth in which case a crown is usually fitted to the implant.

The result is a beautiful new tooth that looks and feels just like a natural tooth.

Several missing teeth

Two or more implants may be used to retain a bridge replacing several missing teeth.

All teeth missing

Several implants may be used to replace a complete arch of missing teeth.

Implant retained dentures

Patients often struggle with loose dentures, particularly in the lower jaw.

An overdenture may be fitted on top of implants to restore proper chewing and improve speech and confidence. The denture will be removable for cleaning and oral hygiene.

Case Study

This is the case of a gentleman who attended our Practice for the first time complaining that he hated his partial upper denture.

After taking appropriate x-rays and consulting with Specialist Oral Surgeon Mr Paul Tran, we decided that it would be appropriate to place five implants and construct a bridge that would be cemented permanently in position on to the implants. He could not tolerate the palate in the denture as it made him baulk and there was some movement when he attempted to eat causing frustration and potential embarrassment.

Note that the bridge does not need a palate so the roof of the patient’s mouth is not covered at all.

This gentleman is now very happy and this treatment has now solved the difficulties he was experiencing when he first attended Kirkcudbright Dental Surgery.
